All journeys have secret destinations of which the traveler is unaware - Martin Buber
The Travel Bug bit me as a young girl sitting absorbed in National Geographic magazines in my step grandmother’s living room. During my career in the Federal government, my work frequently took me throughout the U.S. and overseas. Retired, living in San Antonio, I seized every opportunity to travel with my friends and relatives. I even developed a bucket list and checked off several locations including a “Month in Italy” with my sister and my cousin’s wife. As an avid Frances Mayes reader, especially, A Year in the World: Journeys of a Passionate Traveler, one of the remaining items on my bucket list is: Travel for a Year.
The itinerary my travel “Buddy” and I developed allows me to pursue two of my other passions, genealogy and photography. We plan to visit several ancestral sites and research venues to assist in publication of my second family history book. Photography will capture the memories or our adventure and classes with local instructors familiar with the area will provide access to interesting scenery and additional perspectives.
Come join us on our amazing journey for A Year in the World!!
